When clients ask me "What do you think about this ........ type of diet? Will I get a quicker result?" ARGH! ...... Eye Roll! I've had this conversation with clients on an ongoing basis more than I'd like to count.
The problem with fad diets is that they promote quick weight loss usually by doing extreme practices that are unsustainable for long term results and they are usually promoted by some amazing looking superstar with good genes. When you want to lose weight and keep it off slow progress will ALWAYS win. Remember this. Quick weight loss will be short lived and you often will put more weight back on in the long term.
Don't get impatient. If you are seeing results as small and gradual as they may be progress IS progress and eventually these small steps will manifest itself into the goal you desire as long as you stay committed to taking the off beaten track. The track that may appear to be longer and harder but the only one that will get you to your destination.
The secret success diet is NO DIET. Eat fresh food. Move more. Stress less. Drink clean water. That's it. Go back to basics and stop trying to find the magic diet or magic pill. You already know deep down what needs to be done truth is you are just not ready to give up certain things just yet.
Shakes, pills, detoxes and diets just don't work for the long term. Every time you put your body through some form of an extreme diet by cutting out food groups or taking "fat loss pills" (diuretics) or replacing proper food with just shakes you are slowing down your metabolism. When you go back to eating your normal diet which you will as these diets are unsustainable you will put the weight back on plus more as you've caused metabolic damage by depriving your body of the proper nutrients it needs.
