How would you like to be a fat burning machine even while you sleep? YES PLEASE!!!!
Here's a few tricks that I look out for myself to know if my metabolism is firing up in all cylinders.
1. If I wake up morning feeling and looking leaner around my stomach. I do the body fat pinch test to check.
2. If I'm feeling hungry after every 2-3 hours. Not starving, just hungry.
3. If I wake up leaner after having a higher carb meal the previous day/night.
Ways to fire up the metabolism.
1. Eat regularly every 2-3 hours.
2. Eat protein based meals. This keeps you fuller for longer but it also kick starts your metabolism.
3. Eat whole foods instead of supplements. Eating real food requires your body to work. Work equals calories burned. Win. Win.
4. Drink plenty of water.
5. Exercise regularly doing both strength/resistance based training and cardio.
6. Build muscle. The more lean muscle mass you have the more calories you expand.
7. Take care of your stress. When cortisol levels are high it changes the way your metabolism works and how your body stores fat.
8. Sleep properly. A few sleepless nights will increase levels of the hormone ghrelin which stimulates hunger. Not great news.
