I'm a stress head.
I would say that my biggest problem that I have had to really work on is
stress and how I deal with it.
It's my personality.
I like to get things done quickly. I like to put pressure on myself and
I'm a people pleaser. I don't like to let people down. All of this contributes
to my stress levels.
Now unfortunately stress is a killer.
It wreaks havoc on our bodies in so many different ways.
Once of those ways is that is will make you gain weight AND hold
weight around your stomach.
When you are stressed our bodies naturally react with the flight or fight mode.
Stress is seen as a threat to the body which causes this reaction.
When your body is in flight or fight mode it releases a hormone
called cortisol (which is your worst enemy when it comes to fat loss).
When cortisol levels are high you will NOT burn fat and your body
will store MORE fat around the stomach.
So even if you are exercising every day of the week and eating really
healthy it won't matter. You will still find it very hard to lose the weight that
you want especially around the stomach.
Unfortunately the fat around the stomach is the most dangerous.
It is known as viseral fat. Viseral fat is fat that sits around your organs.
This fat will kill you.
When this fat gets to the point where it is getting hard you need to do something
about it. ASAP.
First step de-stressing.
Second step eating healthy and exercising.
Usually the second helps the first one.
