I get so annoyed with the fitness industry sometimes.
I feel like there is so much information out there that
it gets overwhelming.
Instead of helping people (which is the intention) it
is just confusing people.
Here is the thing.
Sometimes the people you follow may not be talking
to you specifically.
Your goal may be fat loss but they may be giving
information about training for fitness.
You may be a women and there content is specifially
There is nothing wrong with that, but this is where
it gets confusing for you.
Everyone's body type and goal is different so you
need to make sure that you are getting the right
information specific to your goal otherwise you could
be working hard at the wrong things.
So when it comes to doing cardio you need to be
sure that you are doing the right type for your goal.
If you have 8+kgs to lose the best type of cardio
you could be doing right now is walking. YEP.
Walking. As you get leaner you can then look at
adding some HIIT type of cardio but for now the
focus needs to be on low intensity cardio.
Low intensity cardio done at the right times burns
Running burns more muscle mass than it does
fat so doing this type of cardio (which is the common
go to for fat loss) is only hindering your results.
Doing high intesity exercise frequently is great
when you have been able to lose the weight
reason being it that it can make you REALLY
hungry. So if you are already trying to repair
your bad relationship with food this will not
make it any easier.
High intesnity exercise also increases your
cortisol levels and if you are carrying around
excess weight your body is already under extra
stress. To much stress equals weight gain.
Of course this type of exercise gets you fit
but you need to remember what your goal
is here is it to get fit? or to lose the gut?
You can not do both. There is such a thing
as fit people that are still overweight.
