So this is a follow on from my last blog
about chocolate and wine.
What good would it be of me to tell you
not to do those things without giving you
some tips to help you overcome your
So here are my top tips to help you
get in control;
1.For the fat loss results you want the very
first thing you need to do is COMMIT.
There is a big difference between wanting
something and committing to something.
The reason why this is important when
trying to get rid of your bad habits is
because you will FAIL if you are not ALL
IN. You will give up to easily and be
So first of all DECIDE that you will do
whatever it takes, no matter what.
2. Next thing you need to do is be real
with yourself. Stop being in denial about
how bad your habit actually is. If no-one
can see you eating the chocolate or
drinking the wine it doesn't mean it
didn't happen. Closet eating is the worst.
So the quicker you be real the quicker
you can do something about it.
3. Start taking down a log of how much
you drink and or eat chocolate or sweets
over a 7 day period. This will give you a
clear picture of your problem.
Sometimes you can't really see the extent
of the problem until it is sitting right in
front of your eyes.
4. Don't buy any wine or chocolate.
When you keep it in the house that is
when it is easily accessible. If you don't
have any lying around it means you have
to actually leave the house to buy some.
When it is there you only increase the
likelyhood of you giving in to temptation.
5. Don't go completely cold turkey. The
best way to really get in control and a
hold of these habits I believe is to
So for example when it comes to
chocolate instead of cutting it completely
out I would replace the sugar and chocolate
with healthier sweets such as;
Hot chocolate (made with cacao & almond milk & honey)
Homemade raw avocado mousse
The more natural treats help you with
the cravings but they don't contain the
refined sugars which is what you are
In regards to the wine it is the same thing.
Believe it or not you are also addicted to
the sugar in the wine. It is not uncommon
for people to start crave chocolate when
they never used to once they stop drinking
So try to replace the wine with something
else. I've had clients in the past try the
Cold pressed juices
I know it is not the same but we really
need to get in control of the habit first
and then you can balance it back into
your life with balance.
I would first start off with maybe making
a goal around just have a certain amount
of wine on the weekend and then slowly
reducing the amount from there.
6. The other thing that you need to really
start thinking about is how to deal with
your stress and feelings in an alternative
way. If you are drinking and eating chocolate
almost daily then you better believe that
it is your underlying emotions and stress
that needs to be delt with.
So you could try;
Going for walks outdoors (really good one)
Taking a bath
Everyone is different but you have to
find alternative ways to raise your endorphins
rather than relying on the chocolate and wine.
Thats all it really is.
In your day to day life it's important to
try and find things that make you happy
on a regular basis. This helps lift your
mood and your endorphin levels which
makes it less likely that you will keep
reaching for the wine and the choc.
