There is nothing worse than feeling bloated.
Especially when you are trying to lose weight.
It can really get you feeling low and like the
effort you are making is going to waste.
This is not uncommon and the bloating does
not necessarily mean that you have gained
Bloating can be caused by many different
things and some things you might not have
given a thought to.
I'm going to share with you 6 common
1. Food Intolerances
You may be eating something that you have
an intolerance to. This can cause your digestive
system to become inflamed. This can cause
you to feel bloated.
The most common intolerances that cause
bloating is dairy, gluten, soy, eggs and nuts.
As women our hormones can make us bloated
specifically at certain times throughout the month.
The best thing you can do is get familiar with
your cycle and your symptoms. This is so you
don't have a meltdown every month thinking
that you have gained weight when you are just
bloated from your period.
When we are stressed, our bodies release
the stress hormone known as cortisol.
Cortisol can make you gain weight around
the stomach as well as making you feel
bloated around your stomach.
So learning to deal with stress and relaxing
more can help eleviate the bloat.
4. Poor gut health
When our our gut flora is out of whack it
can cause stomach upset and bloating.
Things like anti-biotics, medication, sugar,
alcohol, excess salt, deep fried food and
stress can all effect our gut health.
Believe it or not drinking enough water can
cause you to be bloated. When you are
dehydrated your body holds onto water to
water as a survival mechanism.
So increasing your water intake and staying
hydrated can help reduce bloating.
Beer can cause bloating, you may of heard
of the beer belly. Beer is a carbonated drink
made from fermented carbohydrates which
are known to cause bloating.
6. Eating known foods that cause gas and bloating
Beans and legumes;
Such as kidney beans, chick peas, black beans,
Cruciferous vegetables such as;
Broccoli, cabbage, brussel sprouts, cauliflower,
kale and bok choy.
Sugar, refined salt, alcohol and deep fried
